More than ever, somehow the world we see through media and messages is filled with abject cruelty, and not-nice people gleefully doing their worst. This includes actions taken by ICE agents, whose numbers are set to reach 30,000. But as we watch the atmosphere in our beloved country get worse, we don’t just want to see a message of “Anti-ICE”. We need to be pro-NICE.
ENTER THE NICE AGENCY
We, the people who still believe in Nice, feel called to show our fellow Americans and the world that while the cameras are trained on the meanness, there is also a whole lot of Niceness. In fact, as our government spends over 40 billion dollars on new ICE agents, a new NICE Agency is being commissioned to truly serve the people.
DOING NICE THINGS
NICE Agents are all about Service, Advocacy, Support, and random acts of Niceness.
If you need something nice done for you or your community, you can reach out to us and we will do our best to deploy and help.
If we see a great injustice or meanness, we respond with Niceness as an antidote.
Where we see callousness shown towards human suffering, we respond with caring.
ORGANIZING THE AGENCY
It’s going to take a lot of Nice action to keep us all together. That’s why we have NICE Agents all over, and we have a lot of tools at our disposal to turn this thing around.
Everyone has their own way of being Nice. It costs nothing to become an agent of Nice and requires no special skills beyond the capacity of kindness in the face of meanness.
NICE organizes in specialized groups to fit the area of need, with mission-aligned supporters providing back-end support.
NICE DEPLOYMENTS
You may see a NICE Deployment of Agents helping rebuild after a disaster, serving food, organizing free health and human services, clearing trash, fixing homes, keeping homeless people warm and fed, bringing Art and Music to the people, or providing a voice for persecuted people.
Just as another Agency can rent vans and jump out almost anywhere- NICE Agents likewise can activate in any area, equipped with the skills and tools required for the Nice action at hand.
NICE has mobile kitchens, sound systems and media tools, trucks and heavy equipment, parade floats, large scale art pieces, specialty home and mechanic’s tools, and many trained experts in being Nice in their own area of skill. Deployments will center around the needs and the service.
THE NARRATIVE
Seems there is a doom-scroll rabbit hole to go down at every turn. Elected officials saying and doing the nastiest things, with the formerly quiet parts now out loud. NICE people naturally see inhumanity for what it is. It’s not radical to be Nice, but many would love for us to think so.
NICE is not left or right, blue or red. We just feel called to be in service, and through our work highlight a stark contrast.
NICE does not have to mean complacent. It would be nice if we were not faced with such unprecedented cruelty. Many of us are driven to action by outrage over injustices and disregard for our brothers and sisters. We can prevent more meanness through showing by example what should be done, and speak truth to power with action.
